Blow Room is the Initial or the first stage in the process of Spinning. The name 'Blow Room' consists of two words, as we can see,- ‘Blow’ and ‘Room’. The main process of this room is done with the help of air flow in the room. It is the introductory process of yarn manufacturing from tufts of fibre. The tuft size gets smaller with time and most of the impurities are removed.
The Blow Room has its own objectives to fulfil. Its objectives are- Opening of Bales, Cleaning of Fibres, Mixing and Blending, Regularisation, and Lap Formation. The Blow Room consists of a number of different machines. These different machines help carry out different objectives of the Blow Room.
There are major five actions that are carried out in the Blow Room. They are, the Action of Opposing Spikes, the Action of Air Current, Beating Action, Regulating Action and the Action of Gravity and Centrifugal Forces. Now let’s look at the sequence in which the conventional and the modern Blow Room machines act.

In the Conventional Blow Room set-up, the sequence of the machines working, or the flowchart, so to speak, is as follows. It starts at Hopper Bale Opener. Then it goes to Step Cleaner, then to Twine Opener/ Cleaner, and then to Hopper Feeder I. From the first Hopper Feeder, to Porcupine Opener, to Hopper Feeder 2, and finally to Scutcher.
The line of the more modern Blow Room appears as this. First, it is Bale Plucker, then to Metal Detector, then to Uniclean, then to Unimix, then to Uniflex, then to Vision Shield, to Condenser, to Chute Feed and finally, to Carding.
